These are not lids from 55 gal. drums. They are a pair of untreated, 18 gauge cold rolled steel pans for better sustain and tonal quality.
These are not instruments but the raw materials for making your own handpan. They are ready to be tuned!
The inside diameter is 19 inches. The outside diameter is 21 inches from outside rim to outside rim. The depth of each pan is 5 inches.
The flat spot is 7 inches across. Price is for one PAIR.

Looks like terrible geometry to me!
Play now, think later...

Perfectly shaped shell for a big salad, handwashing dirty rags, and carrying food scraps to the compost?

Jeremy you did a very polite and complete interrogation of this guy , asking to see or hear instruments that would have been made with these shells. The guy comes up with nothing !! :x

Perhaps the community should come together and supply a few for you at the next gathering? How cool would that be to have our food served in "handpan" shells?!? I could eat a whole shell full of your food easily David!

Good work by Dave and Stevan. I raised criticism of this many months ago. I sent Joel an apology message via Facebook today. It's not top shelf, but definitely worth its while. Congrats Joel... enjoy your new Handpan.

So was a handpan made with the shell, and if so is there a video? The link to the forum above just takes me to the main page.
