Warning

Postby Cesus » Sun Mar 01, 2015 11:30 am

Hi, there!

In my excitement for purchasing a Hang I became a victim of scammers and lost a lot of money.
Beware of this offer: http://oberstdorf.Stadtlist.de/kleinanz ... ginal.html

A guy tells you, he moved to england, he sends an identification-card - passport or driving license - to "prove" his identity. With a faked shipping company he promises a secure money transaction on trust basis. Even a wire-transfer is possible. www.ecoparcel.shipping-ltd.com

I´m really down. Primarily I was looking for a Halo but then I got this offer … well, that was that. Back to the beginning. My trail to reduce the long waiting time did just the opposite. I paid dearly.

If any of you guys know somebody who plan to sale his Halo, please let me know. But I fear now it will be much harder for me to afford it.

Thank you!

Really sorry to hear that story. I'll add the pictures in case they're used elsewhere...

Second hand Halos are hard to find and profit sales are usually not supported by Pantheon Steel. But you can find a lot of excellent makers in a much lower price range (1000-1500 euros), like Meraki, Aciel, Ayasa...

Thx for the sympathies - I think I have to have a Halo, unless you tell me there are makers which produce handpans with a similar crispy and clear sound?
Aciel and Ayasa did not convince me ...

You might consider a cfoulke, though I don't think those sound quite like a Halo, but they sing very sweetly.

I like the "round" sound of Meraki...
Carol, I don't think Colin is taking orders at the moment but who knows...
Cesus, from what I've heard, Symphonic Steel might suit your taste, especially as he works on Pantheon Steel shells. Never tried any though.

You're right, Colin isn't taking orders right now; so says his web site. Symphonic Steel strikes me as being a good idea; I heard one; it sounded lovely. (In a personal jam.). So sorry you got taken, Cebus; I gather it was an eBay ad - you might be able to recover most of your money; consult eBay. (oops- maybe not, if you paid outside of eBay.)

That's so sad Cesus. :x and scammers are scum !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I suppose, it just confirms, best to buy over the forum or from the makers directly. If it's the Halo sound you are after, then as was mentioned before, Symphonic Steel might be of interest too, as they use Halo shells.

Good luck for the next time.
