But it is easy. To answer the question with a fact!. I asked Felix today what the background behind the names is. And it is simple.
I have NO doubt, that he told me the truth. It is not bad, if the origin is Gamelan and chinese Drum and he has told me this answer if this was
the background.

Felix told me, that in the year 2000 they gave GU and DING a name.
Ding because it sounds like "Ding" and GU because it sounds in the ears from Felix and Sabina like "Gu" if you activate the helmholtz. That is all!
Simple.

I like that thought! Germans think of a door bell as going 'ding-dong', Balinese think of their gamelan scales as 'ding-dong-deng-dung-dang', English speakers might call such sounds 'gong' while a 'ding' is a dent (damage) in an otherwise smooth surface... but if that surface is a sheet of metal, it may well sound like a German or Balinese 'ding'... coincidence? Universality? A bit of both?

Idle speculation, for sure, but fun!
