hehe Its Marti's old ring, its a bit big but can be modified one step closer to my solo project

I first heard the Hang (the famous david swarup in amsterdam vid) in december 2011 only a couple of months ago and have come to the realization that it has utterly and completly changed my life. I had no musical experience, no building or crafting experience, in four months so far I have owned four pans (more on the way) and have learned to now build handpans with guidance and now own a ring to start my own pans...I quit my job in pursit of pans and changed my whole lifes direction...the effect of these things on me is pretty intense but im sure many here can relate anyone elses world been completly turned upsid edown buy the sound sculpturs??

Well... My wife said: you are so intrigued by the Handpan, why don't you try to make them yourself...
But where to start with no experience? It's linguring in my head, but haven't quit my dayjob... Yet

My wife said about the same thing since I do all sorts of things with my hands and I'm the "Jack of all trades" but master of none.
I have to say that I attempt to do a lot of things and usually I come out on top..but not always....
I gave the idea of making my own handpan a serious thought....but it must have died of loneliness in my head because I didn't get it out quick enough..
But I found myself so attracted to the Handpan that I thought I'd leave all the expertise and crafting to the experts and for me just to play....hopefully a lot less stressful than trying to build one that actually sounded good enough to play.
So for now..... I'm waiting for my GG Halo to arrive and looking forward to playing on something worth being played.
Maybe one day ..two more brain cells will collide and I'll give it another thought.

Its really an addiction, lobour of love...I have no money but somehow i know it will be ok, granted I only have to take care of myself so its ok so if I miss a few meals to get my new hammers or powertools it will bw worth it. You replace the words hammers with heroin or some other addictive substance you can see the level of addiction lol. Also alot of people when seeing me play outside and i tell them i going to make pans offer you a lot of support which brings a lot of positive energy into the experience I would recommend if you can you should give it a try its very real experience if you know what i mean connecting with the metal

yea the people on the forum and the ppl who i have met whilst playing are a real poitive renforcment on the road im travelling, i wonder if anyone has recived any negative experiences through pans i would find it very unlikley

Don't take me wrong...but in my perspective, i don't think that would be possible
At least i can't imagine it...but people are surprising human beeings...
Keep up with your effort and never throw the towel to the floor...
