A heart felt welcome to you Samstar.

I was adopted too but have always known who my birth parents are....but grew up torn within the Nature and Nurture tug of war..
so I feel maybe I can empathise a little.

As a parent myself... I am so please for you Michael...AND she into the Hang..how fantastic!!!

How funny... i was adopted too ,but i had to discover it for myself, my parents never talked about it.
And i did!
Once i brought one of my brothers to dine at my house, telling them that he was a friend from the army...
We´re very similar in appearence so you can imagine their faces...
After that we had a talk and everything went well...
I told my daughter about this since she was a small girl in order to avoid strange situations in future.

Samwidge - GOOD FOR YOU for finding your father and making contact. I think this is absolutely brilliant!

I have no doubt you have huge musical talent - and got at least some of it from your father, who delights us here on the forum (I never had the chance to meet him in person).

I'd just LOVE to know what other instruments you play, or what other music you make.

I share at least some of your obsession(s)! I'm a LOT older than you are, though!

Hi Carol So I am a multi-instrumentalist, playing Piano, Saxophone, Clarinet and Percussion.. I also dabble with guitar, flute and various other wind instruments... and I sing. I am part of a musicians arts collective in Stoke-on-Trent which is all about sharing eachothers musical influences, styles and ideas and we all work on them together. I make ALL kinds of music - no genre sways me or pulls me in I JUST NEED MY OWN HANDPAN !!! I have been lucky enough to have access to a friends spacedrum (although I know the quality is pretty poor in comparison) so that has kept me entertained and channeled some great feelings through playing... but having my own would just expand my musical world. I am finding this forum fantastic and engaging (and addictive) already. Look forward to reading more wonderful stories and seeing the journeys of the hang !! Sam x
